March 2nd, 2022
On Friday 25th February 2022, DASA staff, Board Members, clients and friends said farewell and Happy Retirement to our CEO of 8 years, Ms. Carole Taylor.
For over 8 years Carole Taylor worked tirelessly to make DASA what it is today. Carole first came to DASA at a time when the organisation was in unrest. She came in expecting to be with us for 3 months. 8 years later, she leaves behind a strong and united organization, that is more family than staff team. Carole grew DASA to accommodate the changing needs of the Central Australian community and she ensured people had access to our services when they needed them most. Carole has been the fiercest of advocates for DASA, our staff and the people we serve. Carole represented DASA and Central Australia in many forums, including on the AOD Peak Body (AADANT) Board and the Australasian Therapeutic Communities Association (ATCA) Board. Carole oversaw the implementation of the Methamphetamine Outreach Team and the introduction of the Alternative to Custody Program, both of which have seen great success and had a positive impact on the community. These are just to name a few of Carole’s extensive achievements at DASA.
Carole, your guidance, and encouragement has helped so many of us to thrive in a very complex environment, and we've been so fortunate to have your knowledge to rely on. You'll be extremely missed, but we know your retirement is the right thing at this time. May the next phase of your life bring you all that you seek, and more.
